Content Gamification
Content Gamification is "the application of game elements and game thinking to alter content to make it more game-like." There are almost infinite ways ways to turn educational experiences into meaningful gamified experiences. We are only limited by our creativity.
So what are some of the game elements that we can use to alter the content of our courses? See the chart on this page. I would also add goals, rules, characters, and feedback.
It's difficult to focus on all of these elements at one time, but in this course we are going to experience content gamification mostly through conflict, cooperation, competition, goals, rules, theme, story, strategy (through decision making), characters, and feedback through rewards/scoring. To a lesser extent, we will experience chance, aesthetics, and levels.
