Main Quest (Required Assignments)

Objectives:

(Knowledge) Recall previous experience with games.
(Comprehension) Identify simple game elements and soft skills taught by selected game using a poll.
(Application – Knowledge) Discuss applying gamification to the classroom and soft skills, and list game elements from the selected game.

Side Quests (Optional Assignments)

Remember, side quests are optional assignments that must be completed within the week/level that they are assigned. Side quests will not directly impact your grade in this course, therefore, you should always complete your main quest assignments first. However, there is a reward for the entire class if enough experience points (XP) are earned and one of the best ways for the class to earn experience points is through side quests. We will discuss this in more detail in Level 2.

In videogames (primarily role-playing games), side quests are tasks given to the player that are not required to complete the game, however, they allow the player to see new parts of the game world, earn new items and currency, and develop the player's knowledge and skills; our side quest will work in a similar manner.
